Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Coaching is a structured partnership designed to help you gain clarity, make better decisions, and create a life that reflects who you truly are. My approach combines reflection, evidence-based assessments, and the Becoming You methodology to help you understand your values, aptitudes, and opportunities so you can move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

Rather than telling you what to do, I help you uncover what is most aligned with who you are and who you are becoming.

What is the Becoming You methodology?

The Becoming You methodology was developed by Dr. Suzy Welch, bestselling author, researcher, and professor at NYU Stern School of Business.

The methodology is designed to help people answer one of life's most important questions:

"What should I do with my one wild and precious life?" And "Who am I, really?"

Rather than relying on personality tests or intuition alone, Becoming You uses a research-based framework that explores three critical dimensions:

  • Values — What matters most to you
  • Aptitudes — How you are naturally wired to think, learn, solve problems, and contribute
  • Opportunities — The paths available to you in the real world

When these three elements align, decision-making becomes clearer, more confident, and more sustainable.

As a certified Becoming You Practitioner, I guide clients through this process to help them navigate life transitions, career decisions, relationships, and their next chapter.

How is this different from other life or career coaching?

Many coaching approaches focus on setting goals, building habits, increasing accountability, or making career decisions.

The Becoming You methodology starts somewhere deeper: understanding who you are.

Before deciding what to do next, we explore your values, aptitudes, motivations, and opportunities. This creates a stronger foundation for decision-making because your choices are rooted in self-awareness rather than external expectations, pressure, or assumptions.

The goal is not simply to help you achieve more. The goal is to help you build a life that feels more aligned, meaningful, and authentically yours.

Who is this methodology for?

The Becoming You methodology is especially valuable for people who find themselves asking questions such as:

  • What's next for me?
  • Why do I feel stuck?
  • Should I make a career change?
  • Am I living in alignment with what matters most?
  • How do I make an important life decision with confidence?

I work with three primary groups:

Launchers — Young adults preparing for what's next, including high school graduates, college students, and early-career professionals.

Returners — Individuals seeking to reconnect with themselves after years of meeting expectations, serving others, or navigating significant life changes.

Third Halfers — People entering a new season of life and asking, "What's next?"  Whether facing retirement, an empty nest, a career pivot, relocation, loss, or reinvention, they are ready to design their next chapter with intention.

Is this just another personality test?

No—and that's one of the things people appreciate most about the process.

While personality assessments can provide valuable insights, the Becoming You methodology goes far beyond identifying a personality style or profile. Through a series of engaging exercises and assessments, you'll explore your values, aptitudes, motivations, decision-making patterns, and opportunities.

Depending on your goals, we may also incorporate tools such as the Enneagram or other assessments to deepen self-awareness. However, these tools are used as conversation starters—not labels or limitations.

The goal isn't to put you in a box. It's to give you a clearer view of the box you've been living in—and help you decide whether it still fits.

Many clients come in expecting a few interesting insights. They leave with a much clearer understanding of why they think, choose, and show up the way they do—and what they want to do next.

What are the assessments you offer like?

They're probably not what you're expecting.

The assessments and exercises used in the Becoming You methodology are designed to be both insightful and engaging. Unlike many traditional assessments that can feel clinical, tedious, or limiting, these tools are interactive, thought-provoking, and often surprisingly fun.

Depending on your goals, we may explore your values, aptitudes, interests, motivations, personality patterns, and decision-making tendencies. Each assessment provides a different piece of the puzzle, helping us build a more complete picture of who you are and how you're uniquely wired.

These tools aren't intended to put you in a box. They're designed to help you understand yourself more deeply, uncover possibilities you may not have considered, and make decisions that are more aligned with who you are and who you're becoming.

Many clients tell me that what they learn about themselves is both affirming and unexpectedly eye-opening.

How long does the process take?

Every person's journey is different.

Some people gain meaningful insight through a workshop or immersive experience, while others choose a longer coaching engagement to support deeper exploration and implementation.

The process is personalized based on your goals, the questions you're trying to answer, and the level of support you're looking for. During our discovery conversation, we'll discuss the best path forward for you.

How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a complimentary discovery conversation.

We'll discuss where you are, what you're navigating, and what you hope to create moving forward. Together, we'll determine whether this process is the right fit for your next chapter.
